CHICAGO - A domestic violence incident led to a shooting in a hospital in Chicago, police said.
The shooting broke out at around 3:30 pm in a parking lot at Mercy Hospital and the Medical Center and continued inside the hospital with police shooting at the gunman, the officials said.

Police said the suspect in the shooting was Juan Lopez, 32, who also died in the shooting.
It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was killed in a gun battle inside the hospital with police officers or killed himself.

Tamara O'Neill, 38, an emergency room doctor, is known for being very charitable and very religious. She never worked on Sunday because of her religious faith. O'Neill cut her engagement with the gunman, Juan Lopez, last September.
Lopez and O'Neill were fighting in the hospital parking lot before Lopez came out with a pistol and fired at it.
O'eal and Lopez were due to get married on October 27, but the wedding was canceled in September:
O'Neill graduated from Purdue University in 2002. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.

According to The Knot, Dayna Less was married on June 1, 2019 in Indiana.

Chicago police have identified the murdered officer as Samuel Jimenez, 28. Who joined the Section in 2017, and recently completed his probationary period to become an official. Jimenez was married and had three children.
