Sexual abuse by more than 300 priests in the Catholic Church in Pennsylvania. "the details"
The Pennsylvania authorities on Tuesday revealed details of the extent of the crimes of child molestation and sexual harassment in the Catholic Church.
"These crimes have been committed in 70 years and in an area of six to eight parishes in #Pennsylvania," said Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who announced on Tuesday the results of the investigations so far.
Shapiro said he believed the actual number of victims was more than 1,000, as many were unlikely to have reported to the authorities about the harassment and sexual abuse they had suffered at the hands of priests.
Shapiro spoke of a "blackout for decades" by high-ranking Pennsylvania church officials and the Vatican.
