Trump Threatens to Withdraw U.S. From the World Trade Organization 'If They Don't Shape Up'

(Bloomberg) President Donald Trump has threatened to withdraw the United States from the World Trade Organization and said he was considering an executive order that would link capital gains taxes and inflation, according to a new report.

"If they do not shape up, I would withdraw from the WTO," the president said in an interview with Bloomberg News at the White House.

President Donald Trump said he would withdraw from the World Trade Organization if the United States did not better target the cornerstone of the international trading system.

Trump said last month the United States was at a disadvantage when it was "badly" handled by the World Trade Organization for several consecutive years and that the organization must "change its ways."
