Dubai's police force is testing hoverbikes
Dubai Police have begun training to ride Hoversurf S3 2019 Hoverbike , vertical take-off and landing eVTOL vehicle capable of hovering above the ground and speeding forward. not unlike the speeder bikes in Star Wars.
the Dubai Police has started training two crews to ride the Hoverbike as part of a "first responder unit used to access hard to reach areas."According to CNN,
the general director of Dubai Police’s Khalid Alrazooqui, per Brigadier artificial intelligence department has stated that they’re currently training two crews of officers with the hoverbikes, which they’re hoping to actually implement full time in 2020. The force has exclusive rights to order as many units as they want, so if everyone decides they love ‘em, they can ask for as many more as they need.
According to the company, The $150,000 Hoverbike is made of carbon fiber, but still weighs 253 pounds. It has four rotors for taking off vertically up to a recommended 16 feet off the ground.
Hoverbike can fly a maximum 60 miles per hour. Flight time is not so long, though: only 10-25 minutes, with a pilot.
in drone mode without a pilot, the Hoverbike can fly for up to 40 minutes.
