Man sentenced to 225 years plus life for 2017 Richland Parish murder, related crimes
A Monroe man was sentenced to 225 years plus life for his role in a May 2017 homicide in Richland Parish.
The sentence was handed down to Monteco Frost, age 23, in two parts. A life sentence for first degree murder was handed down following a Sept. 2018 trial, and Frost was sentenced to 225 years on multiple other charges related to a home invasion and burglary on Wednesday.
Assistant District Attorney Doug Wheeler said Frost and four other suspects entered a home in Rayville to commit a robbery in May 2017.
A person at the home was later shot as the men fired guns when leaving the scene, and Keric Whitfield, 43, was killed nearby on Linda Street.
Frost ordered Joshua Chisley to shoot Whitfield from the back driver's side window of their vehicle.
