Jamal Khashoggi: Video How He was kidnapped And Trump Invites His Fiancée, To The White House
Turkish pro-government newspapers reported. That Saudi special forces officers, intelligence officials and the National Guard were part of a team of 15 people associated with the disappearance of prominent dissident Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, investigators have shifted their focus to the underground garage at the Saudi consul's home, where the cars carrying Khashoggi were believed to have been driven directly after the departure of the neighboring consulate.
Turkey released the details of the Saudis who traveled to Istanbul amid claims that they brought with them a large saw to cut Khashoggi. A Turkish official told the New York Times: "It was as if the film were the core of imagination." The proposals that Khashoggi and his body subsequently killed have become widespread since his disappearance, and the Turks continue to insist that Khashoggi faced a brutal fate after entering Building the Saudi diplomatic mission.
Investigators also revealed on Wednesday they were focusing on an hour worn by Apple's Khashoggi, which was connected to an iPhone he had left with his fiancée outside the consulate. "We decided it was when he entered the consulate," a security official told Reuters. Investigators are looking at the information that is being transmitted by the clock.
Turkish officials remain convinced Khashoggi was killed by the alleged band inside the Saudi consulate - a view partly formed by security camera shots, and many have not been released. However, unlike the roads outside the diplomatic mission, they do not have the camera coverage of the residence of the Consul-General or the garage underneath, and say that the cars and those in it remained out of sight for hours, before continuing to Ataturk Airport.
Investigators say the team arrived at Ataturk airport last Tuesday on two planes, one arrived before dawn and the other in the early afternoon. Airport security officials now say they checked all the bags the Saudi teams took with them to the airport and said there was nothing suspicious about the material loaded on the planes while returning to Riyadh.
Officials also say they realized that Khashoggi might have been kidnapped before the second plane left, and watched seven Saudis in a waiting room inspecting their belongings for the second time. When something unusual was discovered, the plane was allowed to leave.
Khashoggi was last seen a week ago entering the consulate in Istanbul for documents about his upcoming marriage.
Jamal Khashoggi was among the few intellectuals who publicly criticized the new administration of the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman. The Saudi government denies any involvement in his disappearance and said he left the consulate through a rear exit.
The crown prince told Bloomberg last week his government was "very anxious to know what happened."
On Tuesday, Khashoggi’s fiancee, Hatice Cengiz, used an opinion piece in The Washington Post to appeal to President Donald Trump to help "shed light" on the disappearance. "I also urge Saudi Arabia, especially King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to show the same level of sensitivity and release television footage from the consulate," she wrote.
President Trump said he had contacted "high-level" Saudi officials - presumably King Salman - to address the issue
"This is a bad situation, it can not be allowed to happen - to reporters, or to anyone, we can not allow that to happen," he said.
