British ambassador "robert macaire" arrested at Tehran demonstrations
Britain’s ambassador to Iran Robert Macair was held for more than an hour before being released while he was near Amirkabir University of Technology during a protests outside by Iranians. the Iranian Tasnim news agency reported.
Security sources reported that Ambassador Rob Macaire was photographing and taking pictures of the popular protests.
The agency added that the British ambassador will be summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tomorrow morning Sunday.

While British government sources commented that Britain considers the arrest of its ambassador in Tehran a violation of international law.
Foreign Minister Dominic Rap said: "The arrest of our ambassador in Tehran without any reason or explanation is a flagrant violation of international law.

Hundreds of Iranians went out on Saturday in popular protests after the Iranian government admitted that the Ukrainian plane was shot down last Wednesday near Tehran, which killed about 176 people, most of whom are Iranians.
