jacksonville News David Jackson shooting in Florida had a history of mental illness, court records show

The court records indicate that the gunman behind the recent mass murder in America suspected of having a history of teenage mental illness, has been hospitalized twice in psychiatric facilities and has been prescribed for antipsychotics and depression.

The records also indicated that Katz's parents are very different about his troubled son's concern. Father Katz claimed that his ex-wife exaggerated the symptoms of their son's mental illness as part of the protracted nursery battle. They separated in 2007.

The Associated Press published divorce records a day after David Katz was killed and two others were killed before he shot himself at the Madden League 19.

The news about Kats' supposed mental health problems came as other shooting developments surfaced - including reports from officials in Florida that the players targeting the video were targeted in the attack.

Sheriff Jackson, Mike Williams, told a news conference on Monday that the video showed Katz walking to other patrons at a pizza restaurant before heading to the back room where he hosted the tournament and then opened fire.

Investigators said the used gun was legally purchased in Baltimore from a licensed dealer.

The rest of the victims are recovering, according to the investigator. He also said that Katz had two weapons at the time of the shooting, but he only used one.

There are still many questions about how Mr. Katz got the gun and why he chose the Jacksonville gaming event as his target.

His friends in video games met him this weekend, they said it was known that Katz was quiet and strange.

Kevin's tea was the best friend of one of the players killed in the shooting.

Kevin said Katz did not talk much with his friends, online or when they met at the Madden competition.

Victims

  • Elia Clayton, 22,
  • And Taylor Robertson, 27

UF Health said four people had left the hospital, but two were still in hospital. One in serious
condition and one in good condition.

  • David Achifaria, 28, was treated for minor injuries and released.
  • Alexander Madronic, 27, is in good condition with a gunshot wound to the foot.
  • George Amadeo - 17, and his condition is good.
  • Christopher McFarland, 31, in good condition in the head.

The Clayton family told the press that the family had been "destroyed by another violent act of armed violence."

Clayton said he "did not believe in violence" and did not have "one day," according to the Associated Press.

Steviej Guararowski told the Los Angeles Times Katz that at least five people were shot dead before killing himself.

A rival to the Los Angeles Times said the gunman had competed and lost earlier in the tournament.

"This is a terrible situation and we deeply sympathize with all the victims and the injured," the host of the tournament, Electronic Arts, responded to the shooting on Twitter.

Officials

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said this afternoon that President Trump was briefed on the incident. As of Monday evening, the president has not yet commented on the massacre.

Florida Governor Rick Scott visited the injured in the hospital shortly after the accident. He said he had been in contact with Jackson's mayor to provide "support"

Sogel Lopez, from Riverview, Florida, shared the picture of her son Timothy in his hospital bed with Scott.
