John McCain's final requests was Donald Trump not to attend his funeral, ‘AFP’ Reports
Donald Trump's relationship with John McCain continued to be controversial in the final days of the Arizona senator, where the Arizona senator told his close friends and family that he did not want President Trump to attend his funeral.
According to Agence France-Presse, McCain said he did not want to include the memorial monument, and it seems that Trump has no meaning to change his mind. Trump has been controversial about McCain in recent weeks.
"The contempt of the two men who showed each other showed no sign of vanishing as McCain continued to weaken," the report said. "A few weeks ago, Trump was unable to point out that McCain was named at the signing ceremony of a defense funding bill appointed by his fellow senators to honor Arizona lawmakers."
McCain worked with both Obama and Bush, but he also opposed it. He ran against Bush in the Republican primary in 2000 and against Obama in the 2008 presidential election, losing both times.
Donald Trump and John McCain were often alternating. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump ridiculed McCain for his arrest and torture during the war with Vietnam, saying McCain should not be seen as a hero.
Sen. McCain entered into a political dispute with President Trump and called for Trump to be encouraged to torture during the war.
