Jamal Khashoggi crisis. Car Belonging to Saudi Consulate Found in Istanbul Parking Lot
ANKARA - Turkish police found an abandoned car belonging to the Saudi consulate in a private parking lot in an Istanbul area, Turkish state television and radio TRT Haber reported on Monday.
The Turkish government channel quoted information indicating that the car's plate indicates that it is one of the cars of the Saudi consulate, and it is identical to the car that was seen in front of the consulate building upon the disappearance of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
TRT Haber pointed out that one of the drivers working at the consulate parked the car in the special position a few days after Khashoggi's disappearance and revealed that the Turkish police were conducting investigations to find out more details about the abandoned vehicle.
On Saturday, Saudi Arabia announced the death of Khashoggi after a "fistfight" at the consulate he entered on October 2 to obtain papers requested by the Turkish authorities to complete his marriage to his fiancée Khadija Genghis.
