CHICAGO - A domestic violence incident led to a shooting in a hospital in Chicago, police said.

The shooting broke out at around 3:30 pm in a parking lot at Mercy Hospital and the Medical Center and continued inside the hospital with police shooting at the gunman, the officials said.

Jimenez was killed during an exchange of fire with Lopez. Police spokesman Anthony Gualelme said Jimenez did not usually work in the hospital area but responded when he heard the shooting.
